Big Hair Girls
Sisters Lizzy & Venus started out making songs in their bedroom. Subsequent collaborations found them exploring a hip-hop-influenced dance sound that led to playing a circuit of clubs and LGBTQ parties in New York City where they soon became staples of the underground scene. It wasn’t until they linked up with producer Donny Dykowsky that they created their current signature sound which combines pop beats with catchy, chanting hooks and empowering lyrics . Their debut single “Future is Female” premiered on AFROPUNK, and broke the top 10 hip-hop charts with core stations in Boston, Albany, and Burlington VT, and college radio nationwide.
